Guest Post: NEXTGen NAWBO

“I wish I had mentors and a network like this when I just started my business” is a statement our Next-Gen Chairperson, Lillit, hears over and over from many of our colleagues at the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). It is a sentiment that resonates with me as well as I look back and think about how I started my professional career and areas I desperately needed guidance in.

That is why I have a deep heartfelt desire to be that mentor for young aspiring entrepreneur women and am so honored to be able to lead Next-Gen track at NAWBOLA. It is specifically designed for women between the ages of 16 and 26 who are either thinking about starting a business or already started their business. Our goal is to create a safe, collaborative, and encouraging environment to mentor our next generation of entrepreneurs.

Through a variety of educational resources on the topics of mindset, attitude, leadership, resilience, financial, operational, sales and marketing (just to name the few), young women will be mentored and provided tools that will propel them to success. Educational resources are not the end – through multiple roundtable discussions and mastermind groups throughout the year, we will be helping the ladies to close the gap between knowing and doing! Knowledge, application, reflection, and adjustment is the cycle that Next-Gen will be taking its members through to help them continuously grow their business.

Lastly, besides all the great resources and mentoring, our young entrepreneurs will build lasting relationships and customer connections within the NAWBO community - locally, statewide, and nationally.

The annual membership fee for the Next-Gen members is only $120. Guests are always welcome to observe and learn before they decide if they would like to join. Our regular meetings are held on 3rd Thursday of every month from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

Join today at nawbo.org or call Lori Lemmon 800-55-NAWBO x 703.
